Set a clear default value for `validate_only`/`include_synonyms`be-explicit-with-validate_only
Set a clear default value for `validate_only` / `include_synonyms`
Previously the kwarg defaulted to `None`, but then sent a `False` so this
makes it more explicit and reduces ambiguity.
